While the term “deadstock” has become a relatively new buzzword in the industry, the concept is anything but; family business Marvic Fabrics has been specialising in selling end-of-lines, or over-ordered stock, from leading brands and mills for decades. Today, with upcycling a consideration for many buyers, demand is high for these fabrics, which would otherwise be left unused.
Marvic offers a huge choice of base fabrics, including wool, linen, viscose, cotton, jersey, eveningwear, and denim.
Its key customers are fabric retailers and designers working on custom-made and small quantity production, where continuity is not a key consideration; with this business model, once the stock has been sold, there is not always the opportunity to re-order. On the flip side, it means the collection is ever-changing.
The total availability of a single fabric generally ranges from 50 to one thousand metres, with a minimum order of 10/15metres.
We will keep you updated on new fabrics in the Marvic collection in the run-up to the show.
