Bennett Silks has launched a transactional website so customers can now shop online, or direct.
“The move is in line with customer requests, particularly young designers who have grown up expecting to order online,” says director Mike Bennett. “The website has been designed to include functionality found when they shop for themselves. These include being able to keep track of their favourite fabrics and their order history.”
The website is now another channel to promote its new products such as a “smoother” French chiffon, available in 39 classic and pastel colours; an updated silk dupion with metallic thread and a 100% silk suiting fabrics – all designed to satisfy the increasing demand for natural fabrics.
“Silk is a long-lasting, biodegradable product, so unlike synthetic fibres it doesn’t stay on our planet forever,” adds Bennett. “We understand there is demand for more sustainable fabrics, as industries are becoming more aware of the impact of their purchasing decisions. As a result, we are continuously looking into increasing sustainable elements in our workforce and the production and sourcing of our products.”
Most of Bennett Silks articles are produced by OEKO-Tex and GOTS certified mills.
